I'm going to chase quotes for these places Saturday morning, Sunday evening and Monday evening.
I hope to come to the Wednesday meeting with quotes for a Fri eve-Sun midnight and a Saturday morn-Sun eve con.

From the Medium RPG gathering thread...

Trumpeter has the Firday night games... I wonder which days would be good.

I'd like an idea on price, but since I have no info, another idea/spot came to mind...

The Main Branch of the VPL has rooms available with rates for Non-Profit Groups! Smiley

A basic room that could serve our purpose:

Board Breakout Room  - 110.00 /4 hrs  - (NP) 75.00 /4 hrs
16 chairs max. around board room table.

(Minimum booking is 4 hours, additional hours prorated.)
* Non-profit rate available for registered not-for-profit organizations. Restrictions apply.

For the Board Breakout Room, 15 people @ $5 each makes the $75.-

If it caught on, they have bigger ones too...

They have Gallery rooms for Free, but only allowed two hours at a time per day... Sad

So if we are planning a monthly 3 block game day 9am-11pm (4 hour blocks with 2x1 hour breaks, that 14 hours) so at a low average of $25/hr we are talking minimum $350. At that low rate we'd need 70 people/$5 each to break even.

If we went two blocks + one hour break (9 hours) is would be $225 average so 45 people to break even.

We we can survey the membership for any large spaces available on a Saturday?

As few other links for rentals.

http://www.theironworks.ca/rental.html

I think we are going to have to think different on this one. Cost will a big factor, so creativity will be needed.  Huh

According to the building plan for 1 Kingsway (the new community centre being built in Mt. Pleasant area at 7th and Main) there is going to be a Games Room with 1150 square feet available...  when this place is finished being built (hopefully this year) I'll look into the rental fees.

PS - also, the second link you guys have above for Mt. Pleasant is for a Calgary community centre...

New West might have some good facilities at a reasonable price... Smiley
Facility Locations

The Centennial Community Centre seems ideal for a 30 -40 person event.

New west is somewhat central, although the facilities aren't on the immediate skytrain route... short bus ride Wink

I was thinking of that one too... the current one at main & 16th (listed up thread) seems doable...

They're thinking outside the box, just in case... Wink
